Celebrations and more

Grandparents’ Day and Annual Day

To kids, happiness is participating in Grandparents’ Day Celebration and Annual Day Celebration. They are the larger than life events held bi-annually for which all students and family members eagerly wait. These mega events provide a great platform to young kids to participate and magnify their skills and showcase their hidden talents. In Grandparents’ Day, they render their heartfelt tribute and unconditional love to grandparents. On the other hand Annual Day is the culmination of school’s academic year. It’s time for celebration and recognition of students as well as of school’s achievements. It is the time when kids mesmerize the audience with their understanding of the world and show them of how they can be agents of change. They inspire everyone with their innocence and honesty.

Festivals, Special Days, and General Assemblies

The spiritual life of the school and students’ holistic development go hand in hand. They learn to celebrate each festival in an environment-friendly way carrying forward the legacy of being a secular Indian. The virtues that they learn help them to adopt peaceful means of dealing with any difficult situation. They learn to respect fellow students and other individuals.

All Special Days are celebrated and their significance is elaborated during the school assemblies. Even General Assemblies deserve a special mention here as students get a chance to participate, present their acts on the front foot and even work in coordination with others backstage.

Intra-School and Inter-School Activities

An array of activities is planned for the whole year. Each student gets umpteen opportunities to participate in these activities and prepare themselves for National and International level competitions whenever they knock on their doors. These include debates, declamations, dramatization, character portrayal, street plays, singing, dancing and drawing competitions, etc.

Students not only participate in activities at the home level rather they also win accolades at interschool championships.

Sports – Go out, play, grow and win!

“EVERY CHAMPION WAS ONCE A CONTENDER THAT REFUSED TO GIVE UP.”

At Adarsh, we lay a strong emphasis on sports and physical development. Our sports curriculum is planned and designed for students to develop and enhance skills like strength, speed, endurance, agility, and flexibility. We believe in 100% participation of our students. For students to know the benefit of the sports they play, they are informed about the body parts and muscle development in playing each sport along with game knowledge. We take young sports enthusiasts to nurture them and support their ambitions by providing them opportunities through vigorous exposure.

Yoga – an integral part of the school curriculum

Yogic practices lead to the holistic development of health. It promotes agility, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility. It improves the circulation of blood, breathing patterns and concentration power of the individuals. So, Yoga has been adopted as a lifestyle for promoting our physical and mental health at our school.

Student Council

Leadership is not a position or a mere title. It is an action and example.

At Adarsh, we provide our young students ample opportunities to take up new responsibilities on their shoulders that would make them influencers, leaving a strong impact on the masses. Investiture Ceremony is the most awaited event of the school. Every year the school celebrates the appointment of the new Students’ Council. It is a prestigious event in which the school flag is raised, and students take the oath to make it flutter higher with their deeds and achievements.  The elected Head Boy and the Head Girl lead others in taking the pledge and motivating other students to work zealously and achieve greater heights for themselves, the school and society at large.

House System

Healthy competition inspires kids to perform their best. When students compete, they become more inquisitive, research independently, and learn to work with others. To foster a spirit of competition and develop team spirit, the students are divided into four houses, and each student is allocated to one house. Inter-House competitions are held in sports, academics, and co-curricular activities, thus providing a focus for group loyalty. We have four houses that impart virtues also. These are PEACE HOUSE – it propagates the value of peace and non-violent ways of dealing with challenges, FREEDOM HOUSE – it emancipates the value of freedom and teaches students to take responsibility for their actions, UNITY HOUSE – it teaches students the value of standing strong together and EQUALITY HOUSE – realises that all individuals are capable beings who should get a fair share of opportunity to prove their calibre.

Rotakids

We also give our students the platform to be part of RotaKids, which is a club for children up to 13years of age. The idea of this club is to make children aware of their responsibility towards the society and the world. Rotakids aims to teach values such as dignity and respect for others, encourage the love for nature, the need for its preservation and the values of citizenship. The Rotakids represent the school at a global level and do their best to improve the society through awareness programs. They conduct rallies to encourage people of the vicinity to adopt better ways of living, avoiding wastage of food, water, power, fuel, plantation of trees etc. They also encourage the other students and parents to donate clothes, toys, stationery and other miscellaneous items etc. for the underprivileged and people of the society.
